Hi Everyone!

I have been wanting to post community content more directly related with research for quite a while.  I found the attached article particularly interesting because it discusses the topic of RPE/RIR scale as an alternative to relying on percentages of 1 RM to select training loads.  Although the focus of this research was to assess the ability of RPE/RIR to be used as a method to 'intuitively' periodize a training plan and better achieve long-term exercise satisfaction and compliance, I thought it would be a good time to introduce the concept of using rate of perceived exertion as a way to better familiarize yourselves with 'how far' to take sets.

Take a read over this and please let's discuss.  Enjoy!
